Kazakhstan is strengthening its position in the growing wind energy market.
The country has started assembling its first wind power equipment at a new plant jointly established by Samruk-Kazyna and SANY Renewable Energy in Shu, Kazakhstan.
The first 10 wind power installation sets, with a combined capacity of 77 MW, will be supplied for a hybrid power project being developed by KazMunayGas and Eni in Zhanaozen.
More importantly, the plant is designed for an annual production capacity of up to 2 GW, manufacturing key wind turbine components including nacelles and hubs, while also establishing an R&D center and creating around 300 permanent jobs.
This is more than a single project — it reflects the growing development of wind energy infrastructure, local manufacturing and renewable energy supply chains in Central Asia.
