Goldwind Secures 89.7 MW Turbine Supply Deal for Thailand’s DKT1 Wind Project
Date:2026-08-12
Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Goldwind has agreed to supply turbines for the 89.7 MW Dan Khun Thot Wind One (DKT1) project in Thailand, marking another step forward in China–Thailand cooperation in the renewable energy sector.
Located in Thepharak District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, DKT1 is being developed by Wind Energy Holding (WEH) and is the first of four planned wind projects with a combined capacity of 299.1 MW.
Under the supply agreement, Goldwind will provide 23 GWH182 wind turbines, each rated at 3.9 MW, together with 156-metre hybrid towers. The GWH182 platform is designed for medium- and low-wind-speed conditions, while the hybrid tower solution helps address transportation and construction challenges associated with Thailand’s terrain and local infrastructure.
WEH broke ground on the DKT1 project on June 30, 2026, with commercial operation targeted for December 2027. The project forms part of WEH’s broader expansion plans, which include four new renewable energy projects totaling 299.1 MW.
For Goldwind, the project further strengthens its presence in Thailand, where the company has operated a local subsidiary since 2013. More importantly, the DKT1 project highlights a growing trend in Southeast Asia: wind turbine suppliers are increasingly combining turbine technology, tailored tower solutions, construction coordination and lifecycle services to meet local project requirements.
AWE–ASEAN Wind Energy Expo
The development of DKT1 reflects the growing opportunities for wind energy investment, technology cooperation and supply-chain partnerships across Southeast Asia.
The AWE–ASEAN Wind Energy Expo 2027 will bring together wind energy developers, turbine manufacturers, EPC companies, technology providers, investors and industry organizations from across ASEAN and beyond to explore new business opportunities and accelerate regional wind power development.
