RWE Opens New Offshore Wind Operations Centre in Germany
Date:2026-07-01
RWE has officially opened its new Offshore Wind Operations Centre in Jemgum, East Frisia, Germany, strengthening its long-term capabilities in offshore wind operations and maintenance (O&M).
Project Highlights
- 24/7 monitoring of RWE's offshore wind farms across Germany and continental Europe
- The new facility will also serve as the project office for the Nordseecluster offshore wind project, which is expected to supply clean electricity to around 1.6 million German households upon completion.
- Around 50 offshore operations specialists will be based at the new centre, supporting the growing offshore wind portfolio.
- The building incorporates sustainable features, including recycled construction materials, rooftop solar PV, energy-efficient design, and water-saving technologies.
Industry Trend
As offshore wind capacity continues to expand worldwide, investment is increasingly shifting beyond turbine installation toward digital operations, intelligent monitoring, and long-term asset management.
Modern offshore wind projects are no longer defined solely by generation capacity—they also rely on advanced O&M centres, digital infrastructure, and highly skilled operational teams to maximise reliability, efficiency, and asset performance throughout the project lifecycle.
The future of offshore wind is being built not only at sea, but also onshore through smarter operations and digital innovation.
